Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP Harsha de Silva has actually spoken up on the recent visit of fellow party member Mayantha Dissanayake as the new Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance (COPF), a position previously held by him.

Issuing a statement on the matter, the previous COPF chairman accused the . government of having sacked him due to his hesitation to secure thieves and allow them to steal from individuals .

It is clear that I was unlawfully driven away from my post as the Chairman of COPF by this group of scoundrels so that they can continue taking from individuals , the MP stated in the statement.He kept in mind that his out of favor decisions such as not approving specific Bills till they were adequately analysed served as an obstruction to those who had other intentions.

I am saddened by the fact that I have now end up being a political victim in spite of having served the nation.

However, I will not back down, I will stand more powerful than before to beat this ring of criminals , he said, including that he highly believes that he has the needed certifications to act as the Chairman of COPF.
