KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 14All Nepal Independent Students' Union-Revolutionary, a student wing of the CPN-Maoist Centre, thrashed and misbehaved with Ramchandra Duwadi, chief of Drabya Shah Multiple Campus in Laxmi Bazar, Gorkha.Duwadi had posted a status on Facebook yesterday saying, "The government that legitimises the term 'people's war' is a dead government. The government had declared public holiday on February 13 across the country to mark People's War Day.After campus Chief Duwadi's Facebook post, Anish Aryal, president of ANNSU-R at Drabya Shah Campus issued a statement and asked him to apologise publicly within 12 hours.This morning, members of the student wing reached the office of the campus head and vandalised his office and thrashed Duwadi because the campus head did not apologise within the time given by them.After campus Chief Duwadi was manhandled, student wings of other parties staged protest in Gorkha.A group of 10 to 15 people, including Anish Aryal, personal secretary of Gorkha Municipality Mayor Krishna Rana, Rajan Ale Magar, personal secretary of District Coordination Committee Gorkha chief Mohan Bahadur Thapa had attacked the campus chief, according to a press release issued by the campus.

"We appeal to the administration to take action against the people involved in such criminal activities" reads the press release..The public campus faculty union and the staff union issued a joint statement against the assault on campus Chief Duwadi and stopped classes today in protest against the incident.It is mentioned in the statement issued by them that security has also been challenged as the incident has spoiled the academic environment of the campus and killed the morale of the teaching faculty and staff. .
