KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 14Norbu Tshiring Sherpa won the sixth edition of the Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal here at the Gokarna Golf Club today. Tamang defends Top of the World Golf Classic title Top of the World Golf Classic on September 16 in Mustang Sherpa carded six-under 66 to finish first in the nett section ahead of Babu Sherpa, who came second with the score of five-under 67.

Tendi Sherpa came third with three-under 69.Rene Vijay Shrestha Einhaus won the gross section trophy with the score of two-under 70.

A total of 33 golfers took part in the tournament sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. Nepal Golf Association Presi-dent Tashi Ghale handed over prizes to the winners.After the sixth edition, Pawan Bista leads the nett section standing with 260 points, while Tashi Dong is second with 175 points.

Babu Sherpa is third with 145 points, followed by Norbu T Sherpa (140) and Umesh Jung Thapa (115).In the gross section, Tashi Dong is at the top of the table with 350 points, while Wangchen Dhondup is second with 340.

Tashi Tshiring is third with 275, followed by Norbu Tshiring Sherpa (265) and Rene Vijay Shrestha Einhaus (170).A total of 10 medal rounds will be played ahead of the finals.The top 40 golfers in the next section and top 20 in the gross section will make it to the Club Championship finals which will be played over two rounds.A version of this article appears in the print on October 15, 2023, of The Himalayan Times .
