HYDERABAD: All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi called upon party leaders and cadres to prepare for Telangana assembly elections, which are likely to be held in next 10 months.
Stressing the need to stop BJPs rise, he urged voters to exercise their franchise to increase the polling percentage and not be complacent that anyhow AIMIM will win.
He was addressing a public meeting in Bahadurpura Assembly constituency on Thursday night.
Stating that Union home minister Amit Shah, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath and other leaders had come to campaign in GHMC elections, he said the BJP failed to defeat the AIMIM.
He said they are parachute leaders and do not know Hyderabad. The BJP should show its work if it has done any.
Let them come to Darussalam, AIMIM party office and see how MP, MLAs, corporators sit and attend to peoples grievances.
People of every faith come to the office, Owaisi said.
In an indirect reference to the BJP targeting BRS on its friendly ties with AIMIM, Owaisi said, KCR is spending 1,200 crore on the Yadadri temple but AIMIM does not have any problem with it.
In fact, a chandelier in Yadadri temple was donated by a Muslim.
This happens in Telangana.
We are not against KCR.
He is following his religion and we are following ours.
Everyone has the right to follow his or her religion.
This is the beauty of India.
