CHANDIGARH: Five days after self-proclaimed extreme preacher Amritpal Singh and his armed fans laid siege to Ajnala police headquarters in Punjabs Amritsar district, the AAP federal government performed an authorities reshuffle on Tuesday that saw authorities commissioner Jaskaran Singh being replaced with extra DGP (workers) Naunihal Singh.

Jaskaran will now head the intelligence wing as an officer of the rank of IGP.Arun Pal Singh will be ADGP (modernisation) and Mohnish Chawla the additional ADGP of the state criminal offense records bureau.

Some IG-level officers promoted to the rank of ADGP will keep their existing posts.

Surinderpal Singh Parmar will be the ADGP of Bathinda, the first officer of this rank to head a variety.
