NEW DELHI: As part of Prime Minister Narendra Modis endeavour to make the youth aware of the contributions of the leaders who assisted the country gain independence, 80 children, including 35 ladies and 45 kids, chosen from throughout the country will get an opportunity to participate in the floral tribute offering function at the Central Hall of the Parliament in the honour of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary on January 23.
These children have been picked through an intricate, objective and benefit based procedure including quizzes on Diksha portal and MyGov; elocution/speech competition at district and state level; and selection from universities through competition on life and contribution of Netaji.Of the picked 80 youngsters, 30 will get an opportunity to speak on Netaji throughout the function in five languages: Hindi, English, Sanskrit, Marathi and Bangla.
The program will be followed by an unique millet lunch.
Modi has also invitited the 80 individuals to his house in the evening same day.A federal government authorities stated there has been a recognized practice of providing floral homages to nationwide leaders on their birth anniversaries by dignitaries in the Central Hall of Parliament House but it never involved common individuals.
Over time, such programmes lost sheen and popularity, and remained simple posturing events wherein just a handful of leaders pertained to use their homages.
These problems had actually been seen by the PM.
Subsequently, the concept of involvement of youth in admiring nationwide leaders on their birth anniversary in the Central Hall of Parliament was started on October 2 in 2015, the authorities said.
