LUCKNOW: A 21-year-old local cricket gamer, Abhilekh Singh, was deceived of Rs 5 lakh by one Krishna Kumar Jha on pretext of assisting him get a break in India Premier League (IPL).
The victim had lodged a grievance with the Gautampalli police after satisfying senior police officials.The victim Abhilekh, who is a lose consciousness from sports college in Lucknow, in his FIR mentioned that he met Krishna during a practice match at KD Singh Babu arena in 2019.
He initially enticed me with a deal to play in the IPL and required Rs 17 lakh.
I expressed my failure in paying such a hefty amount.
He caught me into another offer of Rs 5 lakh to play for a state and then make it to the IPL, he said.Somehow, I managed to take the cash from my parents, and after that made the payments through cheques, he stated.
Even after fulfilling the guarantee I was made to wait.
I even camped as an additional in Arunachal Pradesh for days however did not get a possibility to play in the team which is a necessary requirement for playing IPL, he added.
Later on, when I saw no possibility of getting to play, I required my cash back at which I was threatened with dire effects, he mentioned in the FIR.Additional DCP, Police Headquarters, Akhilesh Singh, stated that the FIR was signed up against the implicated and a probe was underway.
