NEW DELHI: Congress on Saturday said the INDIA alliance will not cooperate with anyone spreading hatred in the society.Senior party leader Pawan Khera stressed that the opposition bloc has not boycotted anyone but will not cooperate with anyone spreading hatred."We have not banned, boycotted or blacklisted anyone.
This is a non-cooperation movement, we will not cooperate with anyone spreading hatred in the society," he said on the INDIA alliance's call to not take part in debates hosted by 14 news anchors.INDIA bloc parties accused some anchors of 'bias' and 'communalising' news debates, adopting a policy that was initiated by Congress to protest against what it called unfair coverage.Khera, however, said that the opposition alliance will attend the shows of the 14 news anchors provided they realise that what they were doing is not good for India."They are not our enemies.
Nothing is permanent.
If tomorrow they realise that what they were doing is not good for India, we will again start attending their shows," he added. The boycott decision was made during the first meeting of the coordination committee comprising participating parties.
During this meeting, some parties advocated for more 'drastic' actions to distance themselves from ‘biased’ TV networks.
However, the eventual decision was to direct their protest towards 'problematic individuals'.
