Slightly less than a decade ago, Canada&s newly elected, prime minister seemed the conscious opposite of his soon-to-be counterpart on the rise in the United States. Justin Trudeau embraced refugees, celebrated multiculturalism, advocated climate action and styled himself a feminist. Donald Trump, meanwhile, bulldozed his way through the 2016 Republican primary while stoking anti-immigrant furore, demonising Muslims and mocking women.
