LUCKNOW: The Yogi Adityanath government on Wednesday tabled the annual budget plan 2023-24 in the state legislative assembly.State financing minister Suresh Khanna presented the spending plan which was earlier passed in a cabinet meeting chaired by primary minister Yogi Adityanath.UP Budget 2023 Live UpdatesThe financing minister, in his speech, pegged the total budget plan size at Rs 6.90 lakh crore.
In 2022-23, the states Budget price quote was at Rs 6.15 lakh crore.The finance minister had actually said that it would be the biggest budget plan in the history of Uttar Pradesh.Uttar Pradesh is the biggest state in the country with a population approximated at 24 crore.
The state is also the countrys biggest consumer and labour market, with its contribution to the countrys GDP approximated at more than eight per cent.For the financial year 2023-24, the small rate of increase in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) is approximated at 19 percent, said Khanna, adding that the states growth rate is motivating in an age of likely global recession.Among major monetary allowances, the state designated Rs 25,350 crore for Jal Jeevan Mission, hoping that all households will be covered with tap drinking water.
Last years allowance was Rs 19,500 crore.
By the year 2023-2024, a target has been set to offer pure drinking water under Jal Jeevan Mission by supplying functional family tap connections to all 2.26 crore families in the state, the financing minister said.Further, for Kanpur Metro, the very first 9km- odd area of which is currently operational, an additional Rs 585 crore monetary allocation has been made for the year 2023-24.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December 2021 inaugurated the finished area of Kanpur Metro Rail Project.This 9-km long area of the Kanpur Metro links IIT Kanpur to Moti Jheel.
