India

Road safety in India is a critical concern and the government has been persistently introducing rigorous safety mandates, both for manufacturers and the citizens.

In one such measure, the Motor Vehicles Act in India was recently amended by the government to enhance road safety.

The amended act imposes heftier challans for traffic violations, leading to stricter monitoring by authorities.

These violations can include offenses such as over-speeding, jumping red lights, improper parking, driving without a valid license, and more.

Several states have equipped the highways with cameras and devices to detect offenses.

Offenders receive an e-challan, and the information is communicated to them via SMS.

However, there are instances when the recipient doesn’t receive the communication due to some reasons.

Hence, it is advisable to regularly check the challans issued to your vehicle to avoid severe consequences such as hefty penalties and even legal proceedings including imprisonment.

Follow these simple steps.
