DHANGADI, OCTOBER 4Sudurpaschim Province Government today decided to provide compensation and relief to the earthquake victims of Bajhang. Four new ministers inducted in Koshi Province government Aftershock rattles Morocco as rescuers seek survivors from the earthquake that killed over 2,000 A meeting of the stakeholders at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers today, decided that the provincial government will provide food, treatment, and other essentials to the tremor victims.Industry, Tourism, and Environment Minister Ramesh Dhami said that food materials, treatment facility, among other essentials, would be provided to the tremor affected. "The government will bear all treatment expenses of the victims," he added.The chief minister, ministers, security personnel, representatives from Red-cross and UN Agencies, among others, attended the meeting and discussed the damage caused by the natural disaster.

Speaker Bhim Bhandari of the province was also present at the meeting.Dhami said the meeting decided to provide immediate treatment facility to the injured, collect details of the damage and bring the obstructed road into operation.He said that the meeting had also decided to provide relief and compensation to the victims.The meeting has also reached the conclusion that the immediate relief, residence, rehabilitation will be provided to the owners of demolished houses.One person died and 20 people were injured in the earthquake in Bajhang yesterday.The tremor destroyed hundreds of houses in Bajhang and surroundings.A version of this article appears in the print on October 5, 2023, of The Himalayan Times .
