Share market update: Bank shares trade in the green; YES Bank jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index was trading up 0.27 per cent at 25,807.05 around 02:59 pm on Friday with its components trading in the green.

Shares of YES Bank (up 4.98 per cent), IDFC Bank (up 2.82 per cent), RBL Bank (up 1.46 per cent) and Axis Bank (up 1.11 per cent), were trading with decent gains.

Punjab National Bank (up 0.99 per cent), Federal Bank (up 0.86 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 0.77 per cent) too were trading in the green.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 15.85 points at 10,582.55 while BSE Sensex was down 81.84 points at 35,155.84 at that time.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, Axis Bank, ITC, NHPC, RIL, Idea Cellular and HPCL were among the most traded shares on the National Stock Exchange.
