The Department of Animal Production and Health states permission can not be given to import eggs from India.Its director, Dr.
Hemali Kothalawala, discussing that there are no limitations on importing eggs, discussed that the country which provides egg stocks need to not have reported bird flu within the last six months.However, as India just recently experienced severe break outs of bird flu, the Controller-General of Import and Export can not be permitted to import eggs from India, Dr.
Kothalawala added.It is found out that 90 percent of the worldwide providers, who reacted to the tender notice released by the Sri Lankan federal government following the choice required to import eggs, were from India.Speaking on the matter, the Ministry of Trade mentioned that the approval of Animal Production and Health is needed to import eggs to Sri Lanka.
